Quick Peek – Some Tadpoles, a Spider, and a Fly

Just wanted to share a quick peak at some light I collected from IC 410 (the Tadpole Nebula), IC 417 (the Spider Nebula), and NGC 1931 (the Fly Nebula) on 12/02/2024. I plan to collect more photons from these objects over the next few clear nights.

I changed out the adapter which connects the focal reducer to the AT66ED so I can rotate the image train for better framing. It is just a SCT to M48 adapter which allows me to loosen where the focal reducer is connected to the telescope and rotate the camera. There are better solutions out there, but this adapter will work just fine for now.

This is a quick stack of 60 x 180 second exposures (3 hours) at 121 gain, 30 offset, and bin 2×2. Stacked and processed with Sirilic, GraXpert, and some quick stretching and finishing in Siril.
Tadpoles, a Spider, and a Fly IC 410, IC 417, NGC 1931. 60 x 180 seconds on 12/02/2024
I was able to rotate the camera a bit and get a nice frame of all three of these faint nebula. Starting to get some interesting details… more time should bring out even more.
I hope to collect many more hours of light from these objects over the next few nights so stay tuned…
